Tag: Get To Know Me

Good evening everybody, and happy last day of summer! I can’t believe that it’s over already!

A few weeks ago, I was tagged by the ever-so-wonderful Heather at Books, Trust & Pixie Dust to do the Get To Know Me tag, which I am incredibly excited about!

I had originally wanted this post to come out a few days ago, but school has been absolutely insane and I just haven’t had the chance. I’m hoping to get a better feel for the semester and figure out how to balance everything soon, but thank you all so much for bearing with me while I get this all sorted out.

#TheReadingQuest Wrap-Up

Hello my lovely readers! A couple of days ago was the last day of #TheReadingQuest, which is a reading challenge I participated in that was created by Aentee over at Read at Midnight.

For this challenge, I selected the pathway of the knight, but unfortunately, I did not complete my challenge as I hoped I would. I completed only three of my five challenges on the knight pathway, plus one side quest.

I expected to get through way more than only four books, but back to school season was even more hectic than usual this year and sadly, I had very little time to read as a result. Also, the last two challenges I had to do for the knight were a book with a weapon on the cover and a book with a movie/TV adaptation. I had very few options for books that fit these prompts, and I just wasn’t in the mood for any of them. I am very much of a mood reader, so I’m thinking that reading challenges with very specific TBRs aren’t for me.

Despite the fact that I didn’t do as well as I had hoped and expected, I still had a lot of fun participating in the challenge, especially because of all the other wonderful readers and bloggers that I met and chatted about books with. As a new blogger, I really appreciate the great opportunities this reading challenge had! Continue reading “#TheReadingQuest Wrap-Up”

Review: Love & Gelato

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you’ve all had an excellent first week of September! It was a bit of a long week for me, so TGIF!

Today I have a review for my most recent read, Love & Gelato.

This was the first book that I read for the Fall Bookish Bingo that I am participating in, (you can view my original post and TBR here) and it fulfills the prompt of reading a books set in another country.

I also read this book for #TheReadingQuest for the bonus challenge of Open World (read whatever you want). This book added 10XP to my pre-existing 40XP, totaling my at a whopping 50XP! This means that I have now made it to Level 2, yay! I also earned 38Hp since it was 389 pages. When added to my existing 114HP, I am at a total of 152HP!

And now, on with the review…

Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

Goodreads Synopsis:

I made the wrong choice.”

Lina is spending the summer in Tuscany, but she isn’t in the mood for Italy’s famous sunshine and fairy-tale landscape. She’s only there because it was her mother’s dying wish that she get to know her father. But what kind of father isn’t around for sixteen years? All Lina wants to do is get back home.
But then she is given a journal that her mom had kept when she lived in Italy. Suddenly Lina’s uncovering a magical world of secret romances, art, and hidden bakeries. A world that inspires Lina, along with the ever-so-charming Ren, to follow in her mother’s footsteps and unearth a secret that has been kept for far too long. It’s a secret that will change everything she knew about her mother, her father—and even herself.

People come to Italy for love and gelato, someone tells her, but sometimes they discover much more.

Fall 2017 Bookish Bingo TBR

Hello readers, I hope you’ve all had a fantastic Sunday! I’ve decided to join in on Bookish Bingo, which is a readathon that lasts three months, in this case from September through November. It is being hosted by the wonderful Bekka from Pretty Deadly Reviews. You can see her post about the readathon here.

The rules are very simple. All you have to do is try to make as many bingos as possible, but you may not use a the same book for more than one square.

I’m really excited for this readathon because I know I will have very, very little time, if any, to read when school starts up again in two days. Since this readathon lasts so long, it will (hopefully) be possible for me to read five books throughout that time period and at least get one bingo. Continue reading “Fall 2017 Bookish Bingo TBR”
