Review: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer

Happy Sunday! I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy!! ❤
This afternoon I’m back with a review of one of my favourite books ever, The Unbecoming of Mar Dyer. I reread this for the third time last week (as if I don’t have a about fifty other books that I should be reading right now) and I had the absolute time of my life. This story never fails to blow me away.
I hope you enjoy! 😀

Quote Corner #1: The Retribution of Mara Dyer

Hello!! I hope you’re all doing well! Today is the first post in a new little series I’m starting called Quote Corner, in which I will pick a book and share a quote (or maybe a few quotes) that I like from it. I love nothing more than when I stumble across a lovely quote when I’m reading and I scramble to snap photo of it so I can add it to my journal full of quotes. I have collected so many over the years and will continue to do so that I decided it was time to start sharing them! It will also be a nice opportunity for me to babble about my favourite books a little extra.

Today, in celebration of the season of love (I know I’m, a little late from Valenitine’s Day, but shhhh), I will be sharing a couple beautifully romantic quotes from The Retribution of Mara Dyer.

“Je t’aime. Aujourd’hui. Ce soir. Demain. Pour toujours. Si je vivais mille ans, je t’appartiendrais pour tous. Si je vivais mille vies, je te ferais mienne dans chacune d’elles.
I love you. Today. Tonight. Tomorrow. Forever. If I were to live a thousand years, I would belong to you for all of them. If I were to live a thousand lives, I would want to make you mine in each one.”

“You should’ve seen the way he was looking at you while you were out.”
I smiled a little. “How?”
“Like you’re the ocean and he’s desperate to drown.”

Ugh, reading all of these quotes makes me desperately want to re-read the series! I finished it four years ago, and I am still absolutely mind-blown. I don’t think I will ever recover from how creative and intricately-crafted this story was.
If you haven’t read this series yet, I would highly recommend it! It’s thrilling and suspenseful with a swoon-worthy romance, fantastic characters, beautiful writing, and a phenomenal plot.

First Line Fridays #1

Good evening, and happy Friday, everyone! I hope you’ve all been having a lovely week so far.
I am absolutely obsessed with quotes, so I’ve decided to begin participating in First Lines Fridays! I will be sharing the first few lines of various books with you each week, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Hope you enjoy!!

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words.
What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
If you want to make your own post, feel free to use or edit the banner above, and follow the rules below:

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  • Finally… reveal the book!

The ornate script on the board twisted in the candlelight, making the letters and numbers dance in my head. They were jumbled and indistinct, like alphabet soup. When Claire pushed the heart-shaped piece into my hand, I startled. I wasn’t normally so twitchy, and hoped Rachel wouldn’t notice. The Ouija board was her favorite present that night, and Claire gave it to her. I got her a bracelet. She wasn’t wearing it.

And the book is… Continue reading “First Line Fridays #1”
