Tag: Get To Know Me

Good evening everybody, and happy last day of summer! I can’t believe that it’s over already!

A few weeks ago, I was tagged by the ever-so-wonderful Heather at Books, Trust & Pixie Dust to do the Get To Know Me tag, which I am incredibly excited about!

I had originally wanted this post to come out a few days ago, but school has been absolutely insane and I just haven’t had the chance. I’m hoping to get a better feel for the semester and figure out how to balance everything soon, but thank you all so much for bearing with me while I get this all sorted out.

Books:

Can you stop reading at any time, or does it have to be a certain page or chapter?

It doesn’t always have to be the end of a chapter for me. I will often stop mid-chapter if there’s a good point that I can stop at. I actually feel that the end of chapters are often cliffhangers, so it’s sometimes easier to stop in the middle of the chapter where nothing important is really happening and I’m not dying to know more.

Do you eat or drink anything whilst reading?

No, not usually. If anything, maybe water.

Can you read listening to music or watching TV?

I usually can, but I prefer not to. I find that it takes me longer to read if there are distractions around me.

One book at a time or several at once?

I used to always do only one at a time, but I have recently begun doing a couple at a time, and I really like it

Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere! I probably do most of my reading at home, but I really enjoy reading in the car.

Reading out loud or in your head?

I normally read in my head.

Do you read ahead or skip pages?

Never!

Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

I prefer to keep them new.

Do you write books or just read them?

At this point, I only read books. However, I would absolutely love to be an author someday, I just need to have a good idea first.

Five favorite books:

Only five?!? That’s impossible! I am going to do my five favourite series instead. (sorry!)

  1. Lux by Jennifer L. Armentrout
  2. Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling
  3. The Shadowhunters Chronicles by Cassandra Clare
  4. Covenant by Jennifer L. Armentrout
  5. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan*Honorable mention to the Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin (I told you I couldn’t do just five!)

The last book that you read?

I just finished Stay With Me by J. Lynn aka Jennifer L. Armentout this afternoon!

About Me:

Name?

Daniella

Hair color?

Brown

Eye Color?

Brown

Birthday?

June 14th

Place of Birth?

Canada!

Star sign?

Gemini

Best Feature?

I don’t know. Hair, maybe?

Piercings?

Only two. I just have the standard piecing in each earlobe, and I don’t plan on getting any more in the future.

Tattoos?

Nope, and I don’t plan on ever getting one.

Righty or lefty?

I’m a righty!

Pets?

Not at the moment, but I used to have a few fish.

Siblings?

I have one sister.

Married?

I’m only sixteen, so no.

Hobbies?

Other than reading, I enjoy baking, shopping, listening to music, and doing crafts.

Favorites:

Movie?

Beauty and the Beast (the original animated film, not the live action remake), and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Song?

It changes all the time, but right now I’m really into Cold Coffee by Ed Sheeran. Ask me next week and my answer will probably be different.

TV shows?

I honestly don’t watch all that much television, but I do love Survivor! I used to really like Once Upon a Time as well, but I haven’t really watched the latest season and I don’t think I will bother catching up. I also watched Riverdale in the spring, and I intend on watching the second season next month.

YouTubers?

There aren’t too many YouTubers that I watch on a regular basis. I like Safiya Nygaard and Dan Howell quite a lot, and there are a few BookTubers that I watch, but I really only watch tags, lists, and maybe hauls. I find that I would usually rather read book review, wrap-ups, and TBRS than I would watch them. The videos are just too long.

Food?

I could go on all day about my favourite foods, so for your sake I’m just going to say dessert.

Drinks?

I mostly just drink water, but I also like lemonade, iced tea and hot chocolate. I’ve never been a tea person, but I’ve always wished that I was! There are so many fun flavours and I am obsessed with cute teacups and teapots, but I’m not too big on how the tea actually tastes. It usually reminds me of boiled perfume to be entirely honest.

Restaurants?

I honestly don’t really have a favourite. It really just depends on my mood.

Shops?

I buy a lot of my clothes from Forever 21, Ardene, H&M, and Winners. I really enjoy shopping at Indigo for books, but I honestly don’t buy from them all too often anymore because I can find them WAY cheaper online at Book Outlet, where I now love to do most of my book buying. I also love Costco – you can’t go wrong with some delicious free samples!

Animals?

I love elephants, turtles, bunnies, and butterflies!

Colors?

I really like dark colours and pastels – nothing too bright. My favourites are burgundy, black, light pink, dark green, and purple.

Music?

My favourite artists include The 1975, Fall Out Boy, Maroon 5 (I mostly listen to their older albums; I don’t like their newer music quite as much), Matchbox Twenty,  and Ed Sheeran. I also love listening to Disney soundtracks!

Do you:

Believe in love at first sight?

Yes, I think so.

Believe in ghosts?

Not really.

Believe in Aliens?

Not really, but I mean, who really knows? Maybe they do exist, I don’t know.

Believe in soulmates?

Yes.

Believe in heaven and hell?

Yes.

Believe in yourself?

Sometimes.

What:

If you won the lottery, what would you buy?

I would save up most of it for my education and future, but I would also spend a little extra on some more books. I would also like to travel.

Your favorite/worst subject in high school?

My worst was definitely gym, but thankfully I don’t have to take it anymore. I don’t really have a favourite. I enjoy French and math a lot, but I also have very much of a love-hate relationship with English. I obviously love reading, as well as writing, but I don’t like many of the assignments we have to do.

Something you wish you were talented at?

Everything! But mostly drawing because I am so easily inspired by everything and have a ton of ideas, but nothing ever looks as great as it does in my head once I actually attempt to put it on paper.

The first thing you notice about people?

I honestly have no clue. Their clothes, maybe? Or hair?

On top of your bucket list?

Travel the world! There are so many different places that I want, or rather need to visit. I want to go to New York, Paris, Italy, London, Disneyworld, Greece, Hawaii, and so many other areas!

Your biggest accomplishment?

I’m not going to answer this one; too personal.

Something you look for in a partner?

Honesty, loyalty, compassion, and a good sense of humour

Something you dislike?

I hate, hate, hate when people walk through a door that somebody is holding open for them without saying thank you! It’s just so rude and unnecessary! It literally takes one second to say thank you!

Favorite fairytale?

Beauty and the Beast

Random Final Questions:

Season?

Summer

If you could live anywhere in the world where?

New York, I think.

Sweet or savory?

Both! Sweet and salty is the very best combination!

Last time you cried?

I can’t remember exactly, but it was probably pretty recently.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

Most definitely! We have the same hobbies and interests, the exact same personality, and would have a great time hanging out together! I mean, we’re practically the same person. (but in all seriousness, yes, I would)

Scary movie or happy ending?

I prefer a happy ending.

Are you competitive?

Just a little in certain situations, but for the most part, not really.

Describe yourself in a single sentence?

I’m a relatively shy and quiet, though friendly, bookworm with a great sense of wonder and curiosity.

If you could give your younger self some advice, what would it be?

Honestly, I have no clue. I’m still pretty young so there isn’t really much I could say to my younger self.

  1. That’s good that you don’t read ahead. I don’t either but sometimes the suspense is so bad that I scan a paragraph ahead but then I forced myself back haha.. I also read everywhere and in my head too 😊 Thanks for tagging me.. sure is a lot of questions to get through 😊

  2. Ah, great tag Daniella! And I love Safiya as well ❤ I used to watch Buzzfeed videos a lot (still do but not as much) and she was always one of my favorites. I was sad to see her go but I'm happy she's made a name for herself solo 🙂 And I haven't watched OUAT in ages either, but I want to get back to it!
I would never have thought you'd have a love/hate relationship with English hahaha But I guess being a blogger/reader doesn't necessarily mean enjoying or getting top marks on the subject.
Thank you so much for tagging me 🙂 I'll try to get this up soon!

      1. Oh yeah, I absolutely agree. Buzzfeed in general has just been much less exciting and original lately… Plus, all the controversies surrounding the company really took a toll.
The only ones I watch nowadays are The Try Guys and sometimes Worth It. Anything else just sounds so bland and cheesy.
Even Safyia’s videos (bless her soul) seem to have lost their charm lately. They’re mostly just more of the same: her buying stuff and trying it on, or make-up related videos. I love her and Tyler and Crusty but it’s getting a bit old. I hope she makes some exciting videos soon!
