Quote Corner #4: Since You’ve Been Gone

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! I hope you’re all doing well. All of my university classes are being moved to online within the next few days, which is kind of nerve wracking because I’m not too sure this is going to go smoothly, but fingers crossed! Hopefully St. Patrick’s Day will be bringing us all a lot of luck during this time!!
For today’s Quote Corner, I selected Since You’ve Been Gone for its green cover. (I like to be festive, hehe) Happy reading! 😉

This felt like the way you get nervous right before something exciting happens-the moment when you’re balanced on the top of the roller coaster, the hush before the surprise party, the second after the diving board but before the water, when you can close your eyes and imagine, for just a second, that you’re flying. The feeling that good things were coming, almost here, any moment now.

I don’t think you have to do something so big to be brave. And it’s the little things that are harder anyway.

I read this book soooo long ago, but I had a great time reading it! I really liked Morgan Matson’s writing style and I loved the cast of characters that we were introduced to! Additionally, I absolutely adored Emily and Frank’s playlists. It was such a cute and fun addition to the story!
If you’re in search of a cute and fun summery romance, I would recommend giving this one a shot.

Review: Since You’ve Been Gone

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson
Genre: Young Adult – Contemporary, Romance
Pages: 449
Publication Date: May 2014
My Rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
Read July 2016

Goodreads Synopsis:
It was Sloane who yanked Emily out of her shell and made life 100% interesting. But right before what should have been the most epic summer, Sloane just…disappears. All she leaves behind is a to-do list.
On it, thirteen Sloane-inspired tasks that Emily would normally never try. But what if they could bring her best friend back?

Apple picking at night? Okay, easy enough.
Dance until dawn? Sure. Why not?
Kiss a stranger? Um…

Emily now has this unexpected summer, and the help of Frank Porter (totally unexpected), to check things off Sloane’s list. Who knows what she’ll find?

Go skinny-dipping? Wait…what?
