Quote Corner #12: The Hating Game

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I hope you’re all staying healthy and safe! ❤
Today I’m sharing some of my favourite quotes from one of my favourite adult romances, The Hating Game. It’s such a fun read, and these quotes are too!
Hope you enjoy! ❤

I want to know what’s going on in your brain. I want to juice your head like a lemon.

I have a theory. Hating someone feels disturbingly similar to being in love with them. I’ve had a lot of time to compare love and hate, and these are my observations.
Love and hate are visceral. Your stomach twists at the thought of that person. The heart in your chest beats heavy and bright, nearly visible through your flesh and clothes. Your appetite and sleep are shredded. Every interaction spikes your blood with adrenaline, and you’re in the brink of fight or flight. Your body is barely under your control. You’re consumed, and it scares you.
Both love and hate are mirror versions of the same game – and you have to win. Why? Your heart and your ego. Trust me, I should know.

I love him so much it’s like a thread piercing me. Punching holes. Dragging through. Stitching love into me. I’ll never be able to untangle myself from this feeling. The color of love is surely this robin’s-egg blue.

I had so, so, SO much fun reading this book. A hate-to-love romance is without a doubt my very favourite trope ever. I will never, ever tire of reading books with a good enemies to lovers romance (so if you have any good recommendations, please send them my way)! The plot was fun, I adored the setting of the publishing company, the characters were great, the dialogue was well-done, and it was just an all-around good time. If you like a quick and fluffy rom-com style book, I would highly suggest giving this one a go in the near future!
I can hardly contain my excitement for the movie adaptation of the Hating Game to be released!! I hope it doesn’t disappoint!
