Magical Readathon 2020: TBR

Hello, hello, hello!! I hope you’ve all been enjoying your weekend so far! 🙂
I’m very excited to announce that I will participating in The Magical Readathon hosted by Book Roast for the first time! I’ve seen other people participate in the past and it looks like an absolute blast, so I’m excited to join in. The amount of work and effort that must have gone into this is incredible. It is very creative, well thought-out, and impressive.

I chose the career of a seer, which requires that I take Ancient Runes, Astronomy, and Divination. I also plan on getting my certification to operate locomotive trains (Hogwarts Express, here I come!), which requires Defence Against the Dark Arts as well as Muggle Studies. I’m not sure I will be able to make it through all of these books, but I am hoping to!!

As usual, this TBR is very tentative because I am a mood reader, and despite the fact that I’m in the mood to read all of these books now, I probably won’t be in another five minutes. But without further ado, here are the books that I am considering reading this month to fulfill the prompts:

Ancient Runes – Heart Rune: Heart on the cover or in the title

Easy by Tammara Webber (Contours of the Heart #1)

I’ve wanted to read this book for a while, and this seems like the perfect opportunity to pick it up!!

Astronomy – Night Classes: Read the majority of this book when it’s dark outside

Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Jennifer L. Armentrout is probably my favourite author on the planet, and I can hardly contain my excitement to read this book and meet the cast of characters – I already know that I’ll love them! Her books also have the tendency to keep me up reading into the wee hours of the night, so I think that this is the perfect pick!

Divination – Third Eye: Assign numbers to your TBR and use a random number generator to pick your read

That Summer by Sarah Dessen

I did this using a few of the books that have been sitting on my bookshelf for a long time and that I think I will hopefully be in the mood for. Sarah Dessen has been one of my favourite authors for years, so I’m ecstatic to finally read her debut novel!!

Defence Against the Dark Arts – Grindylows: Book set at the sea/coast

5421978   OR   Daughter of the Siren Queen (Daughter of the Pirate King, #2)

Distance Waves by Suzanne Weyn or Daughter of the Siren Queen (Daughter of the Pirate King #2) by Tricia Levenseller

My sister has been recommending that I read Distant Waves for years, so I might finally do it. But if not, I will read Daughter of the Siren Queen, since I just finished reading the first book in the duology, Daughter of the Pirate King.

Muggle Studies – Book from a perspective of a muggle (contemporary)

The Deal by Elle Kennedy

I have been just about dying to get my greedy little hands on a copy of this book for YEARS, and I could really do with a fluffy romance right about now.

Are you participating in this readathon? Which career did you select?
Have you read any of the books on my TBR before?
Let me know in the comments down below!!

Thank you all so very much for joining me today! Have a wonderful week!
See you next time! ❤

  1. I’m so excited for this readathon, and you’re right – it seems like there was SO much care and effort put into it by its creator! I haven’t read any of the books on your TBR, but I wish you the best of luck with pursuing your Seer career and learning to operate the Hogwarts Express 😀
