First Lines Fridays #12

Good morning, my wonderful readers! I hope your week has been going well and you’re all looking forward to the weekend! Today is time for another First Lines Friday!
Hope you enjoy! 😀

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words.
What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

I’ve been locked up for 264 days.
I have nothing but a small notebook and a broken pen and the numbers in my head to keep me company. 1 window. 4 walls. 144 square feet of space. 26 letters in an alphabet I haven’t spoken in 264 days of isolation.
6,336 hours since I’ve touched another human being.

And the book is……

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

This series has been on my TBR for as long as I can remember. Between the intriguing synopsis and countless extremely positive reviews, I can’t help but be drawn to this story! Unfortunately, I still haven’t had the chance to read it. Hopefully within the next year or so I’ll be able to put aside the time to binge the series.

Have you read the Shatter Me series? Would you recommend it?
What’s a book that’s been on your TBR for ages?
Let me know in the comments down below!!

Thanks for joining me today! Have an excellent weekend!!
See you soon! 🙂

  1. Oh my goodness, don’t even get me started. I hate these books with a passion and you definitely need will-power to keep trudging through! Restore Me was excellent because at least the characters got a grip. Definitely try reading it though because opinions are so mixed! I would love to know what you think.
What are you reading at the moment?

    1. Wow, I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy them. Up until now I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about the series. Now I’m even more intrigued to pick them up, haha! Fingers crossed that I’ll have the chance soon!! I’m currently reading Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody. I think I’ve been reading it for almost a month now, but I’ve just been so incredibly busy with school that I haven’t had time to pick it up often. I’m enjoying it though! What are you reading, Erin?

      1. I hope you that they don’t let you down, Daniella. Amanda Foody is a name I recognise *I’m not too good with book titles, though* I have also been very busy with school so my TBR is getting bigger as I haven’t had much time to read! This morning I finished The Great Gatsby and I’m now reading The Perks Of Being A Wallflower – loving it so far!
