Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together?
I started this one ages ago, and only just finished it now. I only had about 25 pages or so left, so I finished it really quickly. But I have to say, who on Earth did I stop reading this!?! It was soooo good. (I’m thinking that it might have been my band obsession, especially with Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco, but even then.) It was AMAZING! Perfect, even. But seriously, what did I expect? This is Jennifer Armentrout we’re talking about after all.
And Daemon though. I can’t even tell you how badly I want my own personal Daemon. He just so… perfect in every single possible way. And I liked having his POV in this book. It was nice seeing exactly how he was feeling, especially when he was feeling so much for Kat.
I love Katy and Daemon together so very much that it hurts! They are so adorably cute, but at the same time their love is so deep and almost painful. But in a good way. A great way. It’s just so beautiful, the way they would do literally anything for each other. Daemon risked EVERYTHING for her time, and time again, and I just loved it so much. When they were finally reunited, oh gosh was it ever beautiful. Hits you right in the feels. But in a wonderful way that makes you feel really good, sort of like a pile of gushiness, and also kind of emotional. It’s hard to describe… but I like it.
SPOILER ALERT: Something I didn’t really love was Daemon and Katy getting married. I don’t know, it just didn’t feel right. They didn’t even invite anybody, let alone tell them, and they did not even attempt to dress up. (I do love that shirt of Katy’s though, and it was kind of cute that she wore it since that was what she was wearing when she met Daemon.)
Oh, and Beth getting pregnant? I called it! I called it, I called it, I called it! Sorry, I’m just really proud of myself for predicting it. Even though it was made pretty obvious. I’m curious to see how this is going to turn out though. It could be rather disastrous.
However, I definitely did not see Matthew’s betrayal coming. AT ALL.
But Ash and Andrew though!!! I’ll be the first to admit that I really did not like them at first, but they were really beginning to grow on me. Especially Ash! I’m sad to see them gone. 😦
I also really liked Luc in this book. he’s just a really interesting character and I’m excited to keep on learning about him. And Archer as well. And I’m quite curious about whether or not he’ll form a relationship with Dee. I hope so.
And the ending… What is going on?????? I’m not sure, but it’s bound to be good.
I’m so excited to read the last book in this fabulous series. I’m also a bit nervous. I hope everything turns out alright. I expect great things, but I have a feeling my high expectations will be met. Probably even exceeded. Like I said, this author is insanely talented at what she does. She has yet to disappoint me.
